Our Commitment
Environmental Sustainability
Last updated: [PLACEHOLDER: last updated date]
Our intent
Konva is a small studio, and we want the work we make to leave a light footprint. We are honest about the fact that digital products still consume energy and resources, and we would rather make steady, real reductions than overstate what we do.
This statement sets out the principles we work to. We review it periodically and update it as our practices mature.
Designing for efficiency
Every website we build runs on someone's hardware and travels across networks that draw power. We treat performance as a sustainability concern, not just a user-experience one: lean code, optimised images and video, sensible caching, and only the scripts a page genuinely needs.
We favour clear, purposeful interfaces over heavy, decorative ones. A faster page tends to be a more efficient page, and that benefits both the people using it and the wider environment.
How we run the studio
We work in a way that keeps unnecessary travel and physical waste to a minimum. We collaborate remotely by default, share work digitally rather than in print, and choose suppliers and tools that take their own environmental responsibilities seriously where we have the choice.
Where hosting is within our control or recommendation, we look for providers that use renewable energy or publish credible efficiency commitments.
Measurement and honesty
We prefer to publish figures we can stand behind rather than round numbers chosen for effect. Any specific metrics we share — such as estimated emissions or reduction targets — are set out here: [PLACEHOLDER: specific sustainability metrics, targets, and reporting period, if any].
If we make a formal commitment such as carbon offsetting or a net-zero target, we will state the scheme and timeframe here: [PLACEHOLDER: carbon offset / net-zero commitment details, if any].
